NOTICE OF DEADLINE FOR FILING NOMINATING PETITIONSFOR THE PRIMARY ELECTION
AND FOR FILING INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE PETITIONS
The deadline filing nominating petitions for primary election is March 26, 2024 at 5:00 PM central time. If a petition is mailed by registered mail by March 26, 2024, at 5:00 PM central time, it will be considered filed.
The deadline for filing nominating petitions to run as an independent candidate in the general election is April 30, 2024, at 5:00 PM central time. If a petition is mailed by registered mail by April 30, 2024, at 5:00 PM central time, it shall be considered filed.
Nominating petitions for the offices of:
Buffalo County Commissioner, District Two
Buffalo County Treasurer
Buffalo County States Attorney
Precinct Committeeman Republican Party
Precinct Committeewoman Republican Party
Republican Delegates to the State Convention
shall be filed in the office of the County Auditor located at the Buffalo County Courthouse, 112 Osman Avenue, Gann Valley, SD, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Nominating petitions for the offices of:
President
US Representative
State Senator -District 26
State Representative – District 26B
Heartland Consumers Power District Subdivision 3
shall be filed in the Office of the Secretary of State, 500 E Capitol Ave., State Capitol Building, Pierre, SD 57501, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The deadline for filing nominating petitions to run as an independent candidate for president in the general election is August 6, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. central time. If a petition is mailed by registered mail by August 6, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. central time, it is considered filed. Petitions shall be filed in the Office of the Secretary of State, 500 E Capitol Ave, State Capitol Building, Pierre, SD 57501.
